Hello…My name is Mike Ramsey. I am not a journalist. Nor am I a reporter, or anything else that relates to someone that should be writing a newspaper. But, there is one thing I have that will make this site the best news source for someone in the area. That “thing” is Passion. I am passionate about this community and what takes place here. That is the reason for starting GoBurley.com.

What Is GoBurley?

I have been thinking for a while about news in a small community like ours. Currently, there is only print papers that cost big bucks every year for a subscription. Also, there are very few people involved in reporting the news based on the cost of print, and other various factors. So, I started to wonder if there is a better way to provide news to the community.

That is when I realized that there are passionate people all over this great area. For instance, there are people who donate their time and talents to help out the library, schools, sports, and religious groups all the time. These people are what makes our community one of the greatest places I have ever been (and I have been a lot of places). These people are the reason I brought my young family back to this area. Most importantly, these people are “exactly what” is going to make GoBurley.com a success.

This is the idea…Instant, free news written by members of the community. If you are passionate about football, cover the news on Burley’s football team.  If you are passionate about politics, then cover the news on Burley politics. All you have to do is write good information, and you can be a part of building GoBurley.com and contribute to the voice of this great community.

So, this is our official call for contributors. If you, or someone you know, is interested in being a part of GoBurley.com, then let us know your idea, and why you think it is important for our community. Though we hope to have full-time journalists, the bulk of the information will be written by you, the voice of our community. So, spread the word, subscribe to our RSS feed or email list, and get ready becuase GoBurley.com is out to prove that this is a positive and great community with lots of people who deserve to be heard.
