Camille J. Fowler, age 88, of Burley, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center in Burley.
She was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Cedar County, Missouri, the daughter of Roy Ralph and Bertha Alba (Reeves) James. She received and completed her education in Nebraska. She moved to Idaho in 1940, where she met Guy Tolman. They were married in 1941, and they had one son, Royce. Guy died suddenly in 1942. Camille later married Lee Fowler in 1957, and they had one son, Bret. Lee had three daughters from a previous marriage and together Camille and Lee raised the combined family consisting of Royce and Bret, and Lee’s daughters, Sharon, DeeAnn and Jolene.
Camille worked for Meiners Photo Studio, Idaho Bank and Trust and for the Cassia County School District as a cook at Southwest Elementary. However, most important to Camille was her family. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and taught them the principles of honesty, integrity and hard work.
She is survived by her two sons, Royce (LaRae) Tolman of Burley, and Bret (Pattie) Fowler of Nampa; daughters, Sharon (Tom) Ginther of Boise, and DeeAnn (Steve) Taylor and Jolene (Jerry) Hines all of Burley; one brother, Emerd (Shirley) James of Burley; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, Guy, she was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Lee Fowler who passed away on Nov. 6, 2003.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, at the Christian Center – Assembly of God Church, 317 W. 27th St., in Burley. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 pm. Thursday at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
