Burley

Dorothy Mae Okelberry, age 92, of Burley, passed peacefully on to our Heavenly Father, Sunday, March 7, 2010, while at home, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born April 5, 1917, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Herbert and Emma Blanche (Moore) Jarmin.  She was one of seven children.  She later married and moved west to Idaho, where she raised eight children.  She was later divorced.
In 1961, she met and married the love of her life, James Ralph Okelberry.  They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Jan 13, 1965.  She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully.
Dorothy is survived by one brother, Calvin (Una) Jarmin of Blackfoot; seven children, Jack (Jill) Henderson of Newark, California, Thomas Henderson of Princeton, Missouri, Charles (Joyce) Henderson of Moses Lake, Washington, Donna (Ken) Andersen of Lewiston, Fred (Evelyn) Henderson of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Ruth Dayley (Leroy Perkins) of Burley, and Carol (Bruce) Funk of Shelley; 27 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; five siblings; one son; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend.  She had a passion for sewing, quilting, her garden and her roses.  She had a smile for everyone, shared whatever she had with others and looked forward to visits from family and friends.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Star LDS Church, 100 S. 200 W., of Burley. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Primary Children’s Medical Center or to the Boy Scouts of America.
